Affordable housing is a big concern for Coloradans. It was a top issue that people talked about when I was knocking on doors last fall. When I narrowly lost in November and knew I wouldn't be making laws to address the issue, I still wanted to show my commitment to finding solutions. I found another way to help by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity builds housing for people who need it. Those people have to meet certain income criteria and they also put in 250+ hours of sweat equity into their homes. They also attend Habitat-sponsored classes on topics like financial management and home maintenance so they can successfully stay in their homes.  It's such a great organization, and I'm proud…
